Pictures I took of my friend Bryan White, who recently has said yes to on the missions field with SIM, a missions organization in Charlotte. We celebrated by taking pictures for her support cards. This picture was taking in a house of some of our friends. Thanks guys...we broke in your house sorta cause we like your map. It is awesome.

Hudson is a "super ham" at 10 months 

I had a fun day chasing and taking pictures of this kid while his mother tutored a student. As the photo shows, he has a cute smile and clear blue eyes. Hudson also likes baths, reading books, playing with trains and eats Mexican food. Blessings on ya as you grow Dr. grin-a-lot. 

 

 

Wanted to send a huge thanks to all who prayed and gave financially towards this trip. Our team had a great time serving about 140 street children alongside of Abby Tracy, her husband David and their team. We had a wonderful time loving these kids during camp though at times was a challenge because they are operating out of survival mode due to life on the street. However, we hear their experience at camp greatly impacted their lives as several accepted Jesus in their heart and Abby's programs have increased in size since camp. Above is a short clip capturing some of the scenery, our time with the children and you may even see me holding an interesting animal!


Several mentioned that they forgot or were unable to donate towards the trip before I left. Have no fear there is still a need as I am still raising the final amount for my trip. Mission Trip to Uganda

 




















On July 18th a handful of folks and I will venture for  13 days to the bustling city of Kampala, Uganda. While there, we will partner with Abby Tracy and her husband David (missionaries who live in Uganda) to host a vacation bible school for street children at a christian camp in the outskirts of the city. Also, in coordination with the local church, we will host a men's conference in the slums and participate in community outreach efforts in a local village. Through these events it is our central desire to share the hope of Christ and encourage those who serve faithfully in this region of the world.

This past spring God touched my heart for the needs of street children in Uganda through a book called Kisses for Katie, a page turning story of a young women in her 20's who radically gave up a comfortable and predictable life to live in Uganda and adopt 14 girls. Her story inspired me to sign up for the trip to love on Ugandan street children and not be afraid to eat goat meat while doing it:)

FOCUS

During my visit in Atlanta I went to a Anglican Missions church. The passage on Sunday was about how Jesus healed a blind man by making mud to smear on a blind man's eye to restore his sight. It made me think about the importance of sight and focus in life. I was thankful to have a weekend to refocus. Just like in taking a picture, in life we need time to refocus. It made me think of the verse in Hebrews"Let us FIX OUR EYES on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith..." Hebrews 12:2

Atlanta 2011

So this weekend I hung out with my sister Brittany who is living in inner-city Atlanta as a way to reach out to others. It is a missions trip and a bit out of my comfort at times when I visit. A cool collide in cultures and I quickly become the minority (which I secretly love). This picture was taken on a whim when Britt was goofing off as usual. However, I loved how this picture verse seems to capture this truth. P.S. The girl in the picture is my sister.

Sand Part II

So...this is a picture of sinking sand. I am learning a lot about how Christ needs to be our foundation. Other places we rely on are like sinking sand.

This perspective was a fun one of my sister. I love to take spontaneous pictures of her from different perspectives. It captures her fun loving spirit as she is a flip flop kinda girl.
